I am a Gay Latino that was born in San Jose, CA but raised in San Jose, CA and Mexico. As a child and a teenager I was that kid that would pretend to want to live in a video game world because for me it was much easier to control a video game then my own life. Video games were an outlet for me and I would always pretend that I was the superhero in the video games. One point in my life I made a decision to start a career in psychology and help others that felt loss in the GLBTQ community but also used video games to relate to and escape from the everyday social norms that either of us (me) could not understand or adopt into our own self-identity, but also adopt into our own culture. I always though that maybe Pac-Man and I could relate in the sense of being chased by ghost which for me represented my own accepts and self-identity within my Latino and GLBTQ community.
